Yesterday, my brother accompanied me to the driving school and it's the first time I see the circuit and students learning in the cars with 'L' plates. I queued for 30mins before the customer service tells me that I need my spectacles to enrol.

BUT today I went again bringing my spectacles from the office, the other customer service girl just asked me some questions on my eyesight and that's it! No need spectacles! Grrrrrr.... What kind of customer service standard is this?

I saw the famous "4 poles" of a parking lot.

This is the group of motorbike students wearing the blue numbered cloth. They are attending their lessons.

Are they trying to create jobs? Do they need one person to man the station for photo-taking?

First of all, this bar impressed me with its unique array of single malt whisky types. Waiters and waitresses wear scottish attire.. erm, I don't know if I should call them checkered "skirts".

However since I am not a good whisky drinker, I have not really crave for going into this bar. On one occasion, we wanted to find a place for a beer and we ended up sitting at the al-fresco area of this bar. We got ourself a bottle of guiness stout and a 300ml glass of highlander lager. There is also a basket of fries and a bowl of mushrooms. Their finger food were quite good.

The highlander lager impressed me further! It's light, crisp and refreshing. However, it's the kind of beer which must be served icy cold to taste great. Though it's the same characteristics for all beers, highlander lager taste especially plain when it's not so cold.

This time, we experienced the air-conditioned bar. It has an interior designed to be like a basement of a house. Brick-liked walls, wooden floor look-alike ceiling and basement-liked pillar lamps. Live band sings in a small pillar area like a cell. I couldn't really appreciate it because of the type of songs they sing. But well, their lager and finger food is enough for me to enjoy.

Couldn't take too many pictures with my noisy shuttering handphone camera so pictures are limited. It's the first time I visited this restaurant at People's Park Centre.

Meaty Shark's Fin soup with lots of real crab meat and small fish pieces. Didn't expect this from this chinese restaurant.

I've always frequent the Hong Lim Complex for cheap hawker food. My old time colleagues have always go to this place to pack their food and lunch in the office together in a group. However, it can be pretty boring to eat from the same place again and again. They do have very tasty food. However, when you crave for some hawker japanese food, western food or famous hawker food, it's just not available there.

For this time, due to some events, we had to lunch by ourselves and I wandered off to this food centre. It's super packed but they do have some great food also. They have a bigger variety. I saw this boneless chicken stall with lots of newspaper postings on the signboard itself. It looked famous. So I decided to join in the queue.

After trying, it tasted...... GOOOOOOOOD. I feel that it's their rice which is well done. It's fragrant and goes very well with the chilli and dark soya sauce. Of course, their display of chicken meat is not disappointing too. I like it when they put chicken on a separate plate with an appropriate sauce over it and not just sesame oil.

There are some stalls with long queues too. I'll try it next time.

Well, due to health reasons, I prepared one of the dinners for my family. They all tried my food. My parents were appreciative of the efforts. No MSG, less salt and healthy olive oil used. I am proud of my first try for the whole family.

Only one that wasn't well done, it's the salsa. I will try again! Gambate!

Had escaped to another city in Thailand last week and just came back. It was a very enjoyable trip with lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of smiles and lots of "Sawadeeka....".

Yes, that's right. I went to Bangkok, the city with polluted air and traffic jams everywhere. I couldn't really appreciate the air and traffic in my own country until now. However, there is always a trade-off. There are lots of good spicy food and lots of shopping available! I looooove their super spicy tom yam soup, their cheap shopping available and their group-friendly R&B discos. And a bar that is very well done, the Sky Bar. Another thing which left a deep impression in my mind is Muay Thai, Thai boxing. It was really an eye-opener.

Last but not least, there is thai massage! Whatever type of spa there is, it is much cheaper than my city. Though we spent quite abit on this trip, I feel that it is worth every cent.

A hungry man is an angry man, and a sleepy man is a grouchy man. I realised that good food really brightens my day and enough sleep determines my next day's mood.

Whenever I don't feel happy, I just felt like getting myself an excellent meal to give me solace. Good food is now being associated with happiness. How to go to sleep when you are not happy? Get some good food! Then get a good and early sleep to prepare for a better day. Isn't that just pure bliss?

Now I wish to get the corporate gym membership so that I can get a good workout after a hard day's work, keeping me healthy at the same time. But I still have my language class and I may have driving class soon. So many things that I want to do! Who says retired life is boring? There are really so many things in life to do other than pure work.
