Pre-Christmas - Christmas Lightings 2007

by jamminglady @ 25. Dec 2007 - 23:57:47

This year, Orchard road is full of lights. I feel that there are much more lights than the past few years. Or maybe, I had taken a much closer look at them this time. It's few days before Christmas. Lightings are up to make us feel that it's the festive season and we need to shop.. :P

Let's Never Stop Falling In love

by jamminglady @ 19. Dec 2007 - 22:58:36

Let's Never Stop Falling In love Lyrics
Artist(Band):Pink Martini

I wish a falling star could fall forever
And sparkle through the clouds and stormy weather
And in the darkness of the night
The star would shine a glimmering light
And hover above our love

Please hold me close and whisper that you love me
And promise that your dreams are only of me
When you are near, everything's clear
Earth is a beautiful heaven
Always I hope that we follow the star
And be forever floating above

I know a falling star can't fall forever
But let's never stop falling in love

When you are near, everything's clear
Earth is a beautiful heaven
Always I hope that we shine like the star
And be forever floating above

I know a falling star can't fall forever
And let's never stop falling in love
No let's never stop falling in love

Office Christmas Party Today

by jamminglady @ 14. Dec 2007 - 23:29:41

I had the honour of being arrowed to be the game organiser of the christmas party for 15th floor today. The committee of this party is really big, about 22 persons. The actual number of people in the whole level was about 135 - people on leave - people on MC - committee.. So it was less than 100. :P

I also had the honour to choose my favourite christmas songs for each part of the event. However, the best part was really the toasting session. It kind of started off the whole party. There was the popping of confetti, the popping of champagne and the chinese "yam sei" toasting session. Our chairman is already very old, we could see that he couldn't really walk very well but he is sporting! He was willing to mingle around and played the games together.

The games were a little messy later. I had to control the whole event with me started to walk around on high heels since morning. It was quite fun to see them play though. Although accountants, actuarers and investment management are not really happening, they were enjoying the games and winning prizes. And there was some who is constantly stealing food from the leftovers without playing the games. There was also some who only come during the lucky draws. There was also some to come for a while, walk away and come back away intermittently. Nevertheless!!! We still had a great time.

I didn't get the chance to win any prize at the lucky draws. There were ipod, PSP, massagers, DVD players and speakers. Sob sob.. couldn't get the PSP to help me kill time in the train. Aiya, I feel so great that it's over. Less stress!

Highlander Experience

by jamminglady @ 10. Dec 2007 - 15:21:52

I went to the Highlander bar at Clarke Quay last night. While everybody is trying to get to bed early for work on Monday, I was relaxing at this bar.

Clarke Quay is a very commercialised place for pubbing. It is like a shopping mall with many boutique-like pubs. Each pub has its own character. Highlander is known for their variety of whiskey or whisky whichever you write it. I tried their Highlander lager instead. Their lager is quite clear and soothing. It's full of a strong taste of barley. It cost 8.50 for a 300ml lager. If it's cheaper, I'll probably go there very often for this beer.

Orchard road experience on a weekday night

by jamminglady @ 04. Dec 2007 - 22:05:11

Today I went to collect cakes from Takashimaya's Bengawan Solo outlet. It's near Christmas, probably that explains the crowd. I saw a sign at Takashimaya that it's extending the shopping hours to 10.30pm today.

After collection, I walked on the streets to the MRT station. The streets are filled with people stopping me.. one from some entrepreneurship centre.. then in less than few seconds, another one for charity or something. After I rejected one, another one asking for charity. Finally, I realise that it's actually dangerous to walk on the streets of Orchard road. Thereafter, I walked into the shelters outside Wisma Atria to escape from all these people.

I think there are too many of these "peddlars" on that street. It kind of turns people off walking there.

Sigh

by jamminglady @ 04. Dec 2007 - 10:24:11

What is being stubborn and what is not being stubborn? What is being stupid and what is not being stupid? Ain't all these subjective to individuals? Does everything requires verification and 100% accuracy? I personally know that I am not good at 100%. I can only do my best at whatever came to my mind. If this is not acceptable.... I don't know what else to do. :(
