Destress with Beer

by jamminglady @ 30. Nov 2007 - 21:49:38

Today I had one can of Heneiken beer over lunch. It really helps in destressing. With some colleagues drinking with you together in the office pantry and drowning work sorrows with beer, the day just gets lighter. Perhaps, the name "Friday" helps also.

I just cleared a bunch of stuff and my work plan is now very visible in the mind. There is a goal to where I need to head to. At the same time, I don't need to hang around finding ways to surf without topping the top surfer's list. Furthermore, my leave is approved! I can start to rest during my off days.

Rest by not doing anything. Rest by not walking too much. Rest by lazing myself on the beach. Yeh!!!!! Hi-5 to myself.

I love Christmas! :P

My Capricorn Coworker

by jamminglady @ 23. Nov 2007 - 10:10:17

Recently I find that my capricorn coworker doesn't seem to like to work with me. Although she does her work, she doesn't like to tell me everything regarding work. I am not sure if it's because she's trying to be senior or she's trying to keep her job. Or maybe, there is some character clashes.

Here is a piece of horoscope analysis.

Leo and Capricorn Co-Workers
Provided by Tarot.com

Capricorns are conservative and practical and might be annoyed by your playful ways. While Goats want to get ahead, Lions just want to be admired. Your Capricorn colleague can be condescending, until they see just how creative and charismatic you can be. What the Goat lacks in public relations skills you possess in spades. Conversely, you can learn a great deal about running a profitable business operation by following Capricorn's lead. The two of you could find great success at a financial institution, real estate company, or jewelry business. If you're working for an employer, let Capricorn attend to the day-to-day operations, as well as the long-range plans. You'll excel by presenting ideas to the public and meeting with customers.

Dream House Building in the Air

by jamminglady @ 18. Nov 2007 - 19:58:38

I was watching this show "Bai Jia Le" on channel 8 and I found my dream design theme's name. This show usually shows these 2 artistes competing with each other using a HDB flat. The challenge is to design the living room with furnishing up to $6000 SGD. $5.8K of furnishings and $200 of DIY work. There will be 3 professional interior designer judges for the contest. Winner HDB flat will take away the furnishings. Loser can keep the DIY Decor. This time, both were well designed. I fell in love with this theme. My dream house has always wanted to be like this. It's called "Cosmopolitan".

Interior Design
The cosmopolitan design gives an immediate feel of luxury of the house. It may not need extremely good furniture to create this concept. It lies more in the decor it seems. It gives a heavy and cosy look. More is here.
Bryan Wong's Timeless Cosmopolitan Design. I realised that most of the good designs have a good choice of curtains that matches the decor.

Kitchen
Next is the kitchen! The most important corner of the house. It should be a place where I'm willing to spend time there in cooking rather than washing and cleaning. That should be the concept. Therefore, I should have an induction cooking stove! Hehe. I'm willing to live with the need to pay just a little more for electricity rather than dangerous gas tank and fire that may possibly destroy my house, especially when there will be any kids in the house in future. And, it will save my cleaning time, detergent and water that is required to clean the normal gas stove. That little more for electricity is worth it. :D

Being Environment Friendly
The material and items used need not be totally environment friendly. However, we should collect all used items of plastic / metal / paper /wet rubbish separately to pass to recycle centres. In this case, a car maybe required. :P

Maintaining Cleanliness
One day or another, cleanliness will always come back to haunt you. I don't need to scold anybody for making an irreversible change. Preferably there should be no uncleanable surfaces in the house. Usually this happens for fabric surfaces, like sofa and carpet. So they better be cleanable. No vacuum cleaners!!!! I hate vacuum cleaners. :P

Down With Flu

by jamminglady @ 13. Nov 2007 - 22:58:10

I'm down with flu. This flu made my throat abit sore and then caused me to cough abit. My cough is wierd. I do not cough most of the time but when it comes, it hits me like thunder. It feels like the throat suddenly run out of water.

Today I'm getting abit better now. Nose is not running but it's still blocked. With this situation, my voice sounds "sexy". :b I can't eat spicy food. If I do, my nose will run. So, only plain food!!! :S

Suddenly I feel like eating ice-cream. The "Split" ice-cream where the outer layer is green lime freeze and the inner layer is vanilla ice-cream. SLURP!!!! I'm drooling now.

Adapting To a Different Way of Learning

by jamminglady @ 12. Nov 2007 - 02:24:21

1.48am and I still can't sleep. It must be the panadol max's caffeine effect. Everytime when my mind is active, my mind starts wondering off to many places before it becomes tired and let me sleep. Today, it wondered about my current job.

In the past, I used to be doing things within my job role and nothing else. Probably, it became a comfort zone and disliked doing things more than what I am employed for. I used to make less decisions too. Now I need to make more decisions on what I am doing and improve on current ways of doing. It's not that I don't decide in the past but it's becoming mandatory now and the decisions are up to my own views. So, in a way, my own decisions directly impacts my workload. I realise that people without principles cannot make good decisions. There must be something that you strongly believe to help you in make decisions confidently.

Today is a day where my company's event is held. It was not an invitation but it's part of my job role's responsibility in this department. There are pros and cons in helping out in such events. I'll be doing things that I have never done before. I'll have to work outside my comfort zone but I'll be learning new things and increasing my exposure too. It was really quite uncomfortable to be doing things which you do not have any experience and yet trying to be professional as it involves management and external parties. There's one thing I seriously disliked, it's about working over weekends. Declining my duties however, will definitely deduct my job score. I heard there's going to be more events next year. U-(

Handling things without enough information available is another thing. Although it's our duty to find out more, information can be made more readily available. I think sometimes, we must really be the one to drive it to make things happen.

Probably I am still new. It takes time to get used to it. I will jia you!
