Today feels cold

by jamminglady @ 31. Oct 2007 - 20:42:16

This morning I woke up very unwillingly, feeling so sleepy. As usual the clock rings at 7.05. After 3 alarm beeps, the radio will turn on. Had to wake up at 7.15am everyday and get out of the house by 8am.

This morning was rainy, so it was feeling quite cold. And I did not get out of the office at all during office hours today. It's freezing!

This week didn't feel too good. Traffic on the road makes me feel sian about the working days. Doctor appointment on this weekend also worries me like it is a major event. I also need to revise my language learning before the class this weekend. Everything only makes the week feel stressful. Hope that I can enjoy celebrating my dad's birthday this saturday night.

Halloween 2007

by jamminglady @ 28. Oct 2007 - 23:44:25

This is the first time I'm attending a halloween party. Zouk is usually the most happening place filled with enthusiasts in costumes. I'm really amazed by all the dressing they came in. They really made an effort in dressing themselves up for free entrance. Not much dancing this night by everybody. All were busy taking photos inside and outside Zouk itself. It's more like a........ costume day. :P

I did not take any photos inside Zouk, but here are some photos taken outside Zouk. Quality wasn't so good at night with my phone

Zouk atmosphere at around 1am. Can't see anybody with costume on this photo.

Sun with Moon Japanese Restaurant

by jamminglady @ 28. Oct 2007 - 23:35:04

So far, the only japanese restaurant which has impressed me in terms of food is Sushi Tei. It's not a superb fine dining restaurant or any kind of classy japanese restaurant. The food simply has quality and you would definitely go back again. Other more expensive restaurants that I have tried were not able to bring me back again.

Recently, my friend recommended me this japanese restaurant at Central shopping centre. I thought, okay, it's another nothing-much restaurant. Anyway, it's her birthday. So I thought it's okay, let's just give it a try. It turned out to be good. A japanese restaurant which is able to make good sushi usually produces good quality food. It is always the simplest dish that's harder to perfect, therefore, it will always show how good their chefs are. It turned out to be wonderful. Food here comes with good presentation. For the moderate price that we pay, the food is wonderful. Sushi is good, the rest are well done too.

The only one thing it lacks is variety and for lunch, only sets are there, ala carte is there for sushi and sashimi. It's hard to vary what you would like to eat. However, it's a good lunch. Here are some photos.

1 Month Anniversary!

by jamminglady @ 21. Oct 2007 - 18:01:38

I've just clocked my one month anniversary in my new workplace! It went well. I took 2 days off recently and it was quite a break. I went to an island for a short break. Spa and massage really got the neck pain out of me. The pain on my calves when I wear heels is also gone. I wish I can enjoy spa and massage everyday.

Now I'm back to the electronic environment. Computers, radios and televisions in our homes are like our negative companions. The fresh air from trees are far away from this city. Well well, electronics are sometimes an addiction. I'm back to the work momentum.

Being in the corporate communications, we are always required to help out in all the company events. Therefore, I helped out at our yearly marathon event today. I have always dislike marathons. The reason is due to the crowd on heading to the marathon and back. And well, I didn't like running too. :P There was once, I took part in "The Big Walk" with my friends. When we were at the train station, it started to rain cats and dogs. It was a terrible feeling. Everybody was stuck at the train station. Nobody heads out of the station and yet, the train of incoming participants kept alighting. Walking to the destination is even worse. The train wasn't even near! Haha, from then on, I NEVER participated.

Now it is the second time I'm experiencing a marathon event without running though. Haha, the weather was good this time. Not too hot and not too wet. I woke up at 5.40am, unbelievable. I don't remember the last time I woke up at this time. The feeling was good. Fresh air in the morning and there is a good weather. Lots of familiar faces at the gathering area. Adidas and Brewerkz were the sponsors. Free adidas wear, free brewerkz beer, free sherbet from our own stall and most importantly, I don't have to run! Haha. This time, it served as a mental preparation for my next year's run. :S

3 Weeks Old

by jamminglady @ 07. Oct 2007 - 10:10:59

I am about 3 weeks old at my new working place now. Work so far is pretty enjoyable. Meeting people, external people, talk, eat free food, write documents, project manage blah blah blah. Everyday there seem to have some events going on. Everyday there's a chance to win Robinson's voucher. Don't know what "Smile Day", "Service dunno what Day", "Photo Day", "e-card Day" and more... The environment is pretty fun and relaxing. It's another company for retirement if you already have the SUPER senior position.

Slowly, I'm blending into my lunch group, and the girls in my lunch group, and my team mates. They are the cutey cutey kind of people. Like cute things, bubbly and talk like children. I'm starting to enjoy this kind of mode, feels relaxing and less serious. I had my welcome lunch with my new boss this week too, it was good to connect to my superior so that I will have an easier time. Anyway, my superior is also a nice person himself. :P

The only thing which I hoped to improve is the transport. I wish to go to the gym after work however, I prefer to have a car to dump all the gears and I can speed home with my car after that. Parking is damn expensive in town and the traffic is also damn bad, although it's already better than the other neighbouring countries. The traffic on the train is bad too, super crowded and full of people fighting for seats. Trains come in 2 minute intervals, you can imagine the speed that it can go... (Trains have to go slower in case of jamming up on the track :##) I think the easiest way out would be to live near the working place or at least more accessible. :-/

Bags in Town

by jamminglady @ 04. Oct 2007 - 23:22:29

If you think that carrying a branded bag makes you look good, you can think twice.

Recently I've been taking public transport to town for work. There's an interesting observation on the bags we carry to work. I don't know why, it seems that most of the girls are carrying branded bags. The brand that has the highest popularity is Coach!!! I see "C" everywhere... You should know what it feels like to carry an item same as the one standing next to you in the MRT packed with people. "OUCH!". U-(

Now, carrying a Coach bag isn't glam anymore. Anything that is widely used loses its unique value. Luckily I didn't have a Coach bag. :P And well, the next is Louis Vuitton (LV). LV now looks very aunty. It isn't something displaying a form of wealth anymore. The Guess brand used to carry a chic and modern feel. It is now giving a cheap look with all the sales going on, giving away cheap bags. All those signature bags looks the same now. NO MORE VALUE...

Uniqueness of any item always makes it look good. Recently I spotted the DKNY bag which looks cool in its black version but I didn't like all its sizes. Oh well.. :P

As long as they carry similar bags, I have a chance to be unique!! ;)
