Yummy Vegetarian Asian Style - New Green Pasture Cafe

by jamminglady @ 25. Aug 2007 - 23:01:28

Recently I went to meet up a few of my friends in this vegetarian cafe. Initially I thought I need to walk quite far, I thought of giving up the trip there. Coincidentally I need to visit a nearby office for eye checkup, so I just make a trip there. I thought this would be the usual tzu cha vegetarian food that I have eaten, nothing too fantastic. In the end, it turned out to be totally different from what you have in mind about vegetarian food!

This is made mainly with fresh vegetables and organic sauces, less of those artificial meat.

This is totally asian style. With the variety of vegetarian made japanese, korean and chinese dishes, it is indeed an eye opener. You might think that it's tasteless, you are wrong! Food tastes good and rich, just that it's done without meat.

I just realised that it has been advertised on Channel 8 in May 2007.

We didn't know what to order, the lady boss ordered for us. I supposed it's the best of the best!

Here are some pictures of their food:

If you have tasted herbal beef soup and herbal bak kut teh, then this won't disappoint you!
Herbal Soup

There's soba in this.

I don't know if the sauce made a difference or it was fresh fruits. They used honey pineapples which gave a very special fragrance. It include apples, cucumber, mangos and a few other ingredients. I bought the rojak sauce they made, bottled for me from their huge pot. She told me the secret of a few other ingredients too. I shall try it! :)

You may name it sushi but according to the name, it's just seaweed roll. Not as great though, but healthier :P

I don't know what's the name of this dish but it seriously has a special taste. I guess it's their organic sourish plum sauce with wheat bread. I didn't know simple sandwich like this could taste so good.
Sandwich?

There is one more dish called the Korean Stone Pot XXXX something like that. Hahaha. Looks good too but I forgot to take the picture down.

I am craving for their food already. :p
