Complexity of the Human Thoughts

by jamminglady @ 29. Mar 2007 - 14:40:44

I just bought a book recently and I've been reading it these few days. The title of this book is "Introducing NLP". NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I'm not going to talk about what NLP is. This book helped me understand and appreciate the complexity of human thoughts.

The way we think involves a much more complex processing than we thought. This complexity and the way emotions or solutions derived fascinates me. One small difference in what we believe or experience has an effect on the outcome of our thoughts. What you thought is the same does not come out the same everytime. Emotions caused by the same event may not be the same for everyone. There are a variety of reasonings.

If we can understand the general concept of the human thoughts, we can do wonders with every person's performance. The only thing is, we won't be able to find out what everyone has experienced. So, personal change most of the time is still up to oneself, others can only influence.

Whisky Education

by jamminglady @ 06. Mar 2007 - 15:25:57

On one of the Chinese New Year days, I had the chance to have a sip to one of the scotch whisky, Glenmorangie. So far, I have only tried Chivas Regal. This scotch whisky made me change the entire impression of whisky.

Today, I had some time to read up a little on scotch whisky on wikipedia. Scotch whisky, obviously is whisky made in Scotland. It has four different categories namely single malt, vatted malt (also called "pure malt"), blended, and single grain. Of the categories I mentioned, Chivas Regal is considered a blended whisky and Glenmorangie is a single malt whisky. To be called Scotch whisky, the spirit must conform to the standards of the whisky order which is more like a standard age or method of distilling. More about scotch whisky can be found here: Scotch Whisky

Single Malt Whisky - Glenfiddich and Glenmorangie Glenmorangie Bottle

This bottle is the one that I tasted. A distiller of single malt Scotch whisky. It is the best-selling single malt in the UK market, and has been best-selling single malt in Scotland for over 47 years - "Scotland's Favourite Malt". The family have sold this whisky to Moet Hennessy in 2004.

The usual blended whisky gives a very strong burning sensation with a rough taste in the mouth and it is harder to drink. Taste of this whisky is very much smoother to the throat. You will enjoy the drink even without the rocks. I think it's worth keeping such a whisky at home and take it out for a drink while watching a good movie.

Try it!

Getting Lost in the Paradise Corporate Race

by jamminglady @ 05. Mar 2007 - 22:37:37

After I wrote the previous posting, I forgot about this part of the paradise living.

Ever been in a country where the daily life is so relax, enough income lets you enjoy life and have a good home? I think there could be a few countries like this. Purely being an expatriate allows you to have a good life overseas while working for what you like. Living in a country in which you couldn't ask for more, why should you leave the race?

Well, in this kind of setting, it really does not make sense to abandon the race. I don't mind having this paradise and my own paradise at the same time. It's only when we ask for more everytime that we decide to find our own ways.

In view of this, who wouldn't be greedy enough to want the best of both world?

Getting Lost in the Rat Race

by jamminglady @ 05. Mar 2007 - 22:18:19

After reading so many books and after understanding many financial freedom ideas, people still tend to get lost in the rat race.

While the rat is running in the wheel, more food and the bigger wheel temptation just makes the rat run more. More often than not, we know what we will get in the end but comfort and temptation always take over. After getting exhuasted, we then realised that time is lost. No more time is left for us to take over the world. If we want to handle both sides of the world, heaven and earth, to ensure that we can fall back to earth, should we continue to persevere till our financial freedom days reach?

Every day, I could see my colleagues trying to climb the corporate ladder. They might be looking for something they wanted up there and hope that there will be no retrenchment. One day when they get jobless, they blame the government for not helping them as the low-income or unemployed. They blame the government for tax increase, they blame the world for causing stock crash and they blame the rich for getting richer.

Man... hope that I can pull it through and not blame the world if I did not.
