And finally she really flew a kite on the "right" day...

by jamminglady @ 12. May 2008 - 21:54:15

To follow up on the last post, my mum really flew a kite that day. With the last night's reminder and the actual day morning's reminder and request to ask her out to have Mother's Day lunch, she actually ignore all my words and have lunch by herself while my dad and I were waiting at home for her. She finally came back without even saying anything.. until I asked. She didn't even have the slightest courtesy to inform.

It's the not the first time it happened. So many XXXXXXXX times there were. I always get angry and then forgive and forget. This time she really did the extreme. She had to do it on a Mother's day. She thinks we have so much time to arrange and wait for her. She actually thinks that it's okay that she don't eat with us and we will enjoy by ourselves even though we waited for her. She never put us in her mind AT ALL~~~~~~

I was really damn pissed off, upset and angry. I shall never ask her out for lunch/dinner again. When she's free AND when we are anywhere in her thoughts, let her arrange. I know that this day will NEVER COME.

She can stay out of the house forever and I shall not care. She treats this house like a weekday night stay anyway.

The Topic of Sincerity

by jamminglady @ 11. May 2008 - 09:01:27

I feel that people really need to improve on their sincerity when it comes to giving presents, giving a treat or asking for someone's hand (aka proposal). It's Mother's Day today, so this topic really rings the sincerity bell when talking about "giving".

I really detest the idea of asking someone what they want before giving a present. You should be sincere enough to go and find out what they want indirectly. Why try to give something for the sake of giving without putting in effort? If you want to give, you give with sincerity... if you don't want to give, don't try to look for an easy way out to show how insincere you are. It's the thought of putting into what to give that is admirable, not literally what the present is. I think EVERYBODY should really do a review on themselves, same for those who ask for specific presents directly.

Definitely, nobody wants to give something that the receiver doesn't want. Then we should be putting some thought into it! Just to facilitate this logic, we ask the receiver. If I am the receiver, I would say that I could buy it myself if I want, you think I don't have the money to buy what I am going to tell you? Surprise is the key. Don't everyone feels happy when someone really notice what you need and get it for you as a present in a surprise? It doesn't have to be any festival or a reason to celebrate.

My younger brother does not celebrate my birthdays or anything specifically. However, he takes the effort to choose and buy me presents when he comes back from other countries. I always appreciate them and I love him for that.

My mum didn't agree immediately to go out with the family today because she says she's going for swimming. So it seems like we may not go to lunch and she never suggests alternative. Even though, we asked her out but seems like this is in second priority to her other WEEKLY ACTIVITIES. In this case, I don't suggest that I show any sincerity for this event because even the recipient does not want in.

Givers and recipients should review on themselves nowadays. Everything is taken for granted. :**:

Relaxing Saturday - TCC & Cosmo the Bistro

by jamminglady @ 04. May 2008 - 13:15:36

Kind of a relaxing and nothing-to-do saturday. So I sat in the cafe, drank a cup of cappuccino. At night, we visited Cosmo the Bistro just outside Wisma Atria. Great Happy Hour Stella Jug for $24++.

TCC
I saw many tai-tais with baby prams in the cafe. Looks like it's a favorite place for all mothers to catch up.

Fisherman's Wharf

by jamminglady @ 04. May 2008 - 13:02:51

We have always passed by this small bistro style restaurant and never dropped by to try it. This time, we wanted something bistro and so, we decided to take a seat there. They have this big signboard with "Fisherman's Wharf" title on it. It looks like an old english cafe.

Weather has been hot for the past 1 month. So sitting there without any air-conditioning feels a little warm. Luckily they have cold draft beer. Surprisingly food here ain't that expensive and they have a wide selection of fishes! So with the wide selection, sounds like they are an expert in fish eh?

The result? Cool! Although I didn't like thick crispy batter on the outside, it was well done. With the crispy crust, the meat inside is soft, bleach white and super fresh. Even their fries tastes good. Fish and chips like never before. I will truly recommend this place for fish and chips.

The fact that all types of sauces are available shows that they give a damn to what we are eating.

Nice comfortable bistro

It doesn't look anything special. Wait till you take a bite at it. Look at that bleachy white flesh. Soft and mmmmmmmmm...

For those who like oysters, you may think the oysters will be rock hard. Damn wrong! Crispy batter and real soft oysters inside. The wierd looking tomato sauce tasted strange and I didn't like it. Tobasco on it will taste good. You just have to ask for it. :)

Mingles Dinner

by jamminglady @ 28. Apr 2008 - 21:59:16

After the whole day, we met up with my family for dinner at east coast. There is this newly built area called Playground@BigSplash. Quite a number of eateries out here, though mostly are just outlets that exists in commercial places. Only one....... is different. There we are, at the Mingles. This was the only restaurant which looked different from the rest.

It's called "Mingles La Brassarie". European food. I thought hmmm.. okay we'll just try. Looks just like a normal western food restaurant. So each of us had our orders. The waiter told us about the dishes and wine. The wine tastes good BUT it tasted a little too warm, more than the room temperature. It must have been the hot weather I guess, or their cellar is not working. Food wise, I guess mine was the best. The lobster linguine for a price of $22++ was unbelievably worth it. Pasta was well done and the lobster meat was good..... I wish I could eat it again.

Enough talking.. here are the photos:

Great test, great apartment, great sea view

by jamminglady @ 28. Apr 2008 - 21:48:33

Yesterday, it felt like a whole day of event for me.

D'abord, I went to take my driving practice, followed by theory evaluation test. During the practice, I failed two booklets again by 1 or 2 questions again. Each new booklet, they always have something new to surprise me and cause me to answer wrongly. I was quite tired already. I didn't have enough sleep from last night. Disappointed and tired, I went down to take a cup of "Teh". I thought.. okay, I'll just give the evaluation a try, at most I'll take it again if I fail. Before I went up, I had a little surprise. I saw my colleague and he was with his wife. His wife was having her first lesson. Well, I couldn't chat long and got back to my test. I finished in 20 minutes and spent another 10 minutes to browse through back and forth. Tada! I passed!!! God is kind to those who work hard, not study hard. I was elated. :)

Later in the afternoon, after watching 2 DVDs, we decided to head down to Boat Asia. The new private apartment project, "Reflections", is still having their showflats there. We decided to take a look. That was really a grande "LOOK". LIFESTYLE living they say. Huge apartment, designed in the way like a hotel is. Extremely good sea view like no projects ever had. Even sentosa's condominium project couldn't fight with it. Every apartment in a building could be different due to the architecture. Walls are designed such that it could be torn down to view a bigger room. There is a dry kitchen in every unit. All the little thoughts are there for you for a price in terms of millions of course. :P

Well, hard to achieve that millions. Thought we'll enjoy the boat show. The boats ended up in a faded colour compared to the house. This year, boat asia seems to have less boats and it wasn't as grand like the last one at Sentosa. However, there is boat from Dynasty which really opens an eye too. There are 3 storeys and 1 basement and many, many, many, many..... rooms. It's quite unbelievable in the number of rooms inside that boat. It's like a big house by itself. Besides that, the sports style speed boats caught my eye. Stylish and great to enjoy few glasses of white wine on the boat.

I really wish to own one at least for an instance in my lifetime. *Eyes turn green* (with envy)

People whom I don't get along with

by jamminglady @ 25. Apr 2008 - 22:36:00

Recently I've realised that there is this group of people whom I don't get along with. People with these kind of characteristics simply doesn't clique well with me. I tried but it just doesn't has the "Good Friends" chemistry.

These are the types:
1. Overly outgoing that's giving a form of repel.
2. Having an attitude problem with work. Needless to say.
3. Overly proud of themselves.
4. Speak tooooooooo little.
(Not the shy kind, the type who just doesn't like to talk.)
5. Too stingy.
(Note: different from thrifty.. there's always a limit.)

That's it... :P

Got to work today!

by jamminglady @ 20. Apr 2008 - 10:34:34

I forgot to mention that I need to work today also! It's a sunday. That's the life in a Corporate Communications department. We get "exposure" and we get "temp" jobs to work.

Too much of a day last night

by jamminglady @ 20. Apr 2008 - 10:32:07

I had a very bad sleep last night. Very agitated sleep and nightmares were all over the place. They were not exactly nightmares but dreams that are not very pleasing. :S

It must have been due to the chain of events yesterday and the day before. The day before, I was attending this driving final theory class. The instructor was so corny and so boring. His jokes were unentertaining. I had to stick out that 1hr 45min to clock the attendance of this class. Sigh... I also booked my final theory practise sessions and evaluation test. I need to pass this evaluation test 14 days before the actualy test else their super good computer system will cancel my test date. Hats off to this driving centre's computer system. EVERYTHING is computerised and so systhematic. How typical of a Japanese company.

While this test thing is still in my mind, my French class test will be next week. Our teacher just revised with us on the grammar of the language. It seems that we are in good shape, it's just something to make you study off the class.

Enough with the tests, then there is the family outing later. My mum is going on a holiday with her sisters. So the families are going to the regular place for a dinner. Food was good. Hasn't been there for some time. My mum and my aunties like to visit this place... but please... don't go every week. Every week, they would suggest this place, abit crazy though.

After dinner, we met my brother's girlfriend. She really resembles one of my colleagues. Well, too bad her surname is different. She looks like a demure version of my friend. Hahaha. Oh well, she looks fine and nice. That's good, I guess we'll all get along fine.

We had a tour at Changi Airport Terminal 3 while waiting for my mum to check-in. Ended up having beer at Harry's bar. It is nice being able to drink with family and cousins at a bar. I wish that there are more of such sessions. It's fun.

That sums up my past 2 days. Perhaps too many events that led to an agitated sleep. Just uploaded some photos to facebook. Think I'll take a rest again.

Office Eyesore

by jamminglady @ 17. Apr 2008 - 22:01:23

I realised that you really need to have some rants to blog regularly, else you are so happy that you wish to blog. This 2 weeks, I've gotten myself an eyesore in the office.

I've found out that this character is really notorious for her work behaviour and she is really one-of-a-kind. I've tried having lunch with the usual group without any eye contact with her and not talking to her. It's just wierd. I just find that she spoils my appetite and mood. Forget it... unless she changes, I will not befriend her.

If I were to be the management or the boss, I'll fire her. :>
